The Appeal

The Triumph GT6 Mk III, penned by Giovanni Michelotti, remains one of the most elegant British sports coupes of the early 1970s. Its long-hood, fastback silhouette houses Triumph's smooth straight-six engine, and the combination of rear-wheel drive, compact dimensions and genuine grand touring character made for a striking sports car indeed.
This 1973 example stands out immediately thanks to its eye-catching livery, which really highlights Michelotti's clean, flowing lines. Fitted with chrome wire wheels, three-eared spinners, twin exhaust outlets and a full-length folding fabric sunroof, it cuts a very distinctive, sporty figure. Inside, the black cabin with contrasting purple piping, wood-effect dashboard, wood-rimmed steering wheel and white-faced Smiths instrumentation all add to the period charm.
The car is accompanied by a well-organized history file containing documented owner chronology, historic MOT certificates, detailed expenditure records and a photographic record of past restoration work. The inclusion of a reconditioned 2.5-liter six-cylinder PI engine, along with an assortment of spare parts, workshop manuals and reference material, makes this a handsome package indeed, ready and waiting for its lucky new owner.
