The Appeal
The GTV6 is one of those cars that could only be made by Alfa. Pretty Giugiaro lines, Giuseppe Busso’s superlative V6 and balanced transaxle layout all make these cars compelling alternatives to coupe rivals and amongst the most interesting and collectable of modern Alfas.
USA market cars received detailed changes compared to European models, with more luxurious trim, including full leather. This 1984 car spent its life there before being imported to the UK in 2016 by its current enthusiast keeper. Since arriving, he has invested heavily in the car, including a full respray in Alfa Rosso Red and considerable attention to the engine, exhaust system, timing belt, brakes, suspension, clutch and wiring, which we’ve detailed below and is documented in the car’s large history file - with comprehensive works carried out by Marque specialists including, Alex Jupe, Piero Fenocchi (Auto Sistem), JJA CoachWorks & Richard Phillips (Motorcare). Inside, the car features full MOMO specification with tan leather upholstery, a MOMO steering wheel, and a MOMO gear knob.
The car is said to run and drive well and comes with the transparency of a voluntary MOT valid to December 2026 with no advisories.
The vendor says:
“A really excellent example of this very rare and hugely sought-after car with its now legendary Busso V6 and stunning design - regarded by many, including Jeremy Clarkson, as the finest V6 ever made, so good in fact he bought his own GTV6. The car is a dream to drive, and the sound of the Busso V6 is unparalleled.”
