The pre-facelift Jaguar XJS V12 Coupé remains one of the most charismatic grand tourers of its era. With its svelte Malcolm Sayer-penned lines and that glorious 5.3-litre V12 engine, the XJS has matured into a genuinely desirable modern classic. Late pre-facelift examples such as this 1991 car are particularly sought after, representing the most refined iteration before the model's significant visual overhaul.
This particular XJS is believed to have spent its first 25 years in Japan - reportedly garaged at the Imperial Palace, before being re-imported to the UK in 2016. All legends on the car remain in Japanese, lending it a distinctive character. Since being acquired by the current owner in July 2018, it has been garaged and used sparingly, driven only on high days, holidays, and to Goodwood.
The vendor informs us that the car presents in very good condition throughout, with its mica-metallic regency red paintwork and doe skin leather interior said to look smart. A new steering wheel has been fitted in matching veneer, it has a brand new battery and chrome exhaust pipes have been added. The vendor reports no known faults.
