Highlights
Only 377 lucky enthusiasts were able to buy an HPC, or ‘High Performance Caterham’. The term ‘High Performance Racing’ would be more appropriate, given just how impressive these ultra-light 175 ch rockets were. So much so that Caterham required certain drivers to complete a driving course before getting behind the wheel.
These cars were therefore delivered with a very exciting original specification. This one, a rare left-hand-drive model, has been taken even further. The upgrades are plentiful, offering the prospective buyer one of the best-equipped and most exhilarating Caterhams we’ve seen recently.
Its appearance is an added bonus: a blend of unpainted polished aluminium and black detailing, featuring the famous round ‘7’ and an elegant stripe – it is a truly beautiful example of a Caterham.
It has covered just 62,700 kilometres since leaving the factory, and the service history confirms regular maintenance, including a service carried out just before the sale. The MOT will be renewed for the sale and will therefore be valid until November 2028, so there’s nothing stopping you from following your heart and bidding on one of the world’s most exciting sports coupés.
Fitted with the legendary Vauxhall 2.0i 16-valve C20XE engine, producing around 175 ch whilst weighing just under 500 kg, this HPC perfectly embodies the Caterham philosophy: extreme lightness, top-class performance and pure driving thrills.
This particular example stands out for its exceptionally well-executed specification, combining carefully selected competition-grade equipment with a remarkable finish.
Its De Dion chassis with limited-slip differential, adjustable Nitron shock absorbers, AP Racing brakes and numerous mechanical enhancements make this a particularly finely tuned Seven.
