The Appeal
The Rover Mini 40 was a limited edition produced in 1999 to mark the 40th anniversary of the iconic original, with just 250 examples allocated to the UK market. This particular car holds a special distinction: a letter from Rover included with the sale confirms it as the very first of those 250.
Retained by a single registered keeper since new and always garaged, this Mini 40 remains entirely unmodified from its factory specification. A £13,000 body restoration was undertaken in 2015, including rustproofing, and the vendor reports that approximately 3,500 miles have been covered since then. The history file contains the original purchase invoice, Rover price list, service bills, MOTs and tax discs, along with a USB stick documenting the restoration work. Also included is the original Rover metal attaché case received after purchase, housing a replica concertina-style logbook, a diecast 1/43rd-scale Mini model, and the aforementioned letter from Rover.
For collectors, this is a well-documented, carefully kept example with notable provenance.image.png1.7 MB

✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
