The Appeal
In recent years cars like the Focus RS have become not so much hot hatches as superheated - brutally quick supercar-bating five doors that are amongst the best drivers’ cars money can buy. With its analogue feel, visceral performance, usability and blue collar Fast Ford legacy, the third generation Focus RS is the best of the best.
This low mileage 2016 car takes things a stage further thanks to its array of Mountune modifications. The work has been done with care and sympathy, neatly dialling up the original car’s capabilities but without losing the purity and all the goodness. In 2019 the car went to Mountune to receive a forged engine and gearbox, a combination that is said to lift power to between 420 and 450bhp. It is also fitted with a Quaife ATB differential and Mountune KW coilovers. The vendor describes it as a passion project, with a huge amount invested and no corners cut, all supported by a thorough folder of invoices and receipts.
The Frozen White bodywork has been protected with a professional ceramic coating and paint protection film to the most vulnerable panels. The vendor states the interior presents well, featuring factory Recaro CS bucket seats with heated modification, RS Edition carbon trim pieces including the increasingly rare carbon boost pod, and a host of thoughtful additions. Security is well catered for with a Ghost immobiliser, Global Telematics tracker and front and rear dashcams.
The sale includes a large collection of original parts so the buyer can return the car closer to standard specification if desired. The vendor believes it would be very difficult to find another Focus RS in comparable condition with this level of specification and documentation. The car comes to market with recent service by specialist FJRS and lengthy, advisory-free MOT.
The vendor says:
“I've put a huge amount of time, money and effort into this car over the years, and it's been a real passion project for me. It's had pretty much everything I ever wanted to do to it, and I've never cut corners along the way.
“For me, it's the perfect balance of performance, handling and looks. With the forged engine running between 420–450 bhp, the upgraded gearbox, suspension and brakes, it's an incredibly capable car and great fun to drive. What I like most about it is that it's not just been built for big power figures.
“Everything has been thought about, right down to the smaller details, and I think that's what makes it a bit different from other Focus RSs out there. With just 16,900 miles, the condition it's in and the amount of money that's been spent on it, I genuinely think it'll be difficult to find another one quite like it. I'll be sad to see it go, but hopefully the next owner will appreciate it as much as I have.”

The vendor says:
“The car was originally purchased new from Trust Ford in Epsom in December 2016, and I still have the original sales invoice. I'm the second owner and the car has covered just 16,900 miles from new. It has a full service history with Ford, Mountune and FJRS, and I've got a folder full of invoices and receipts for everything that's been done over the years. Nothing has ever been skimped on. The car has had a huge amount of money spent on it over the years, mainly on Mountune upgrades, including a Mountune specification forged engine and forged gearbox. Everything has been done properly using quality parts, and I've kept all the paperwork to back it up.
“The car has also been professionally ceramic coated and has PPF fitted to the front bumper, bonnet, number plate surround and front wings to help keep the paintwork in the best possible condition. The sale also includes a large collection of original parts that I've kept over the years. I've put a lot of time, money and effort into this car over the years, and I think the condition and amount of paperwork that comes with it really show that.”
