Launched in 1983, the Peugeot 205 GTi was a nothing short of revolutionary. It usurped the revered Golf GTi and for many, cemented the 'hot hatch' as a French art form.

Light on its feet, surprisingly quick even by today's standards and possessing one of the finest front-wheel-drive systems ever fitted to a road car, the 205 GTi was named the Car of the Decade by CAR magazine in 1990. 115 bhp in a car weighing just 890 kg offers a 0-60 time of 8.7 seconds and a top speed well over 110mph.

We're delighted to bring this superbly presented and well-sorted 1990 1.6-litre 'Phase 2' example to market. This car has undergone extensive mechanical and cosmetic recommissioning work during recent years and boasts a substantial history file which warrants the indicated mileage and confirms how well it's been looked after. Invoices span back back to nearly new and the original service book is well-stamped.

It was highly specified from the factory with power steering, electric windows and a glass sunroof and the car remains exceedingly original down to the factory steering wheel, gear knob and Clarion stereo. The correct Speedline pepper-pot wheels have been refurbished to complete the ensemble.
