Description
MG Midget Mk III – Auto Glym Concours Car
The MG Midget Mk 3 was introduced in 1966. By 1972 the hood mechanism was improved and minor facelift changes were made including black sills, a revised recessed black grille and the highly desirable round wheel arches making this arguably the prettiest and most desirable Midget of them all
Originally purchased in 1974 by a Doctor for his daughter’s 21st birthday she drove the car for four years and covered just 18, 000 miles. On marrying the Midget was parked in her Father’s garage where it stayed under covers for the next 15 years.
The car was purchased by the second owner in 1993 when the house was sold and garage space lost. The bodywork was superb with no rust – the car had been rust proofed from new. The paint work had faded a little and hood was tired and the new owner decided to dismantle the MG and create a no expense spared concours car using the original components where ever possible. There are numerous invoices, photographs, a large painting and Christmas cards featuring the car in the history file
The car was purchased by the third owner in 2005 for his private collection. He initially entered the MG in concours competitions and never MOT’ed or taxed the car – it was too precious. She was trailered to events and never registered in his name
Today the car has covered under 30, 000 original miles and is as it left the factory – if not better. The rare citron yellow is stunning, the underside & floors are body colour and the interior/ hood like new. The Midget drives like a a two year old car – it is virtually impossible to fault
At Milestones we have gained a reputation for sourcing and marketing exceptional cars and this is simply an unrepeatable opportunity that should not be missed
