Honda Acty Van – 18, 000 Miles/ Show Condition
The Honda Acty was specifically designed by Honda as a small, economical van to be used around busy towns. With 5 speed gearbox and 545cc motor it was utterly reliable and the natural successor to the British Leyland minivan. Today good examples are hard to find
On 18th April 1987 Roy Hayward traded his Fiat van and paid a total of £3, 750 for a brand new Honda Acty van from Bridport Motor Company. He clearly worked hard to negotiate the deal as the figures are still written on the original sales broacher and match the purchase invoice in the history file. He used the van very sparingly and kept her for over 20 years under dust sheets in his garage.
Today the van has had four owners who have covered just 18, 000 miles. As the pictures show, she is in absolutely outstanding condition. Paintwork inside and out is like a one year old car and the interior has clearly never been used to carry cargo.
Mechanically the 545cc engine buzzes you along and the car is a pleasure to drive with easy gear changes and excellent steering & brakes. There is a lovely history folder with handbook, service book, sales literature, original bill of sale and rare workshop manual.
Ideal as a promotional vehicle or something different for the classic car show we are sure that Roy’s Acty wil find an appreciative new custodian very quickly.
