Description
WE HAVE BEEN TASKED WITH SELLING THIS CAR ON BEHALF OF ITHE WIDOW OF ITS LAST OWNER.
Here is a gorgeous 1948 Morris 8 Series E, finished in green and black. Although it is not concours, for a 71 year old car it is in nice condition overall.
The chassis is solid, the paintwork tidy, and the bodywork all round is pretty good for its age. Its certainly eye-catching in its two tone paint finish. There is a minor blemishes at the bottom of the driver door, and at the back of one sill. Not structural though and the car has a very good strong chassis.
The interior is outstanding, having been the recipient of a full fit-out at a cost of £1800. This included the re-covering of all the seats, new carpets, new door cards and a brand new headlining.
The little side valve engine runs like a sewing machine, and the car drives exactly as it should.
Other work has included indicators for safety reasons.
The Morris 8 is still a very popular model today, and this one is a gem.
It is tax and MOT exempt, and due to illness prior to bereavement had been little used by the last owner. According to the V5 the previous owner to last had been knighted by the Queen as he used the title Sir on the documentation. There are a number of old MOT certificates, and whilst there are few other records, the very fact that it remains in its present conditions is testament to it having been very well looked after. It has had 6 former keepers in its 70 years, and is showing 100979 miles which I believe is genuine, based on the previous MOT certificates.
Viewing is by appointment Mon-Sat in Kings Lynn. (It is NOT in our Grantham showroom)
At the asking price delivery can be arranged anywhere in mainland UK free of charge, although 100% payment will have to be made before the car leaves me.
I have had many classics over the years, but this is a stand-out car for me. Its not a museum piece, but a thoroughly useable and smart little car.
Please note that payment can be cash or by card.
