Description

The Austin A55 Cambridge MK2 was produced from 1959 until 1961. Along with the Westminster and A40, it was the first in a range of cars designed by Farina for BMC. In 1961 the Cambridge was restyled as the A60 making these early “high fin” cars quite rare with perhaps just 30 left on UK roads.

This car is a 1960 A55 in black with a tan interior. The mileage reading is 45, 000 which may well be correct as this car spent a long period off the road and for some time formed part of the jaguar Land-Rover collection. Two years ago a substantial amount of money was spent on refurbishment including a comprehensive overhaul of the brakes. This is a “go anywhere” car that is ready to use and runs and drives very well with light steering and a positive gear-change. The upper body is in very good order presents well although there are various minor imperfections to the paint. The underside and structure including the all important sill areas are in excellent solid condition and the interior, which is all original is very well preserved.

Ready to use. Registration number is of value and transferable. Viewing near Woburn, Beds.
