Jean Rédélé's giant killer Alpines fitted with Renault power trains are regarded as some of the greatest race and rally cars of all time.
Produced from 1962 through to 1977, this spicy two-seater rivalled the Porsche 911 for balance and performance and amassed a fine trophy case including a 1 and 2 victory at the 1971 Monte Carlo Rally and a 1-2-3 finish in 1973 en route to winning the inaugural World Rally Championship.
The new Renault Alpine A110, inspired by its predecessor is a classic light-weight speedster reimagined for the modern day and out and out the most fun you can experience on four wheels.
Using technical savvy and weight reduction as a replacement for displacement the new A110 features a mid-mounted aluminium 1. 8 litre turbocharged 4-cylinder motor producing a whopping 252hp and 320Nm mated to an incredibly quick shifting 7-speed dual clutch transmission, all aluminium body and retro quad-headlight design.
The cockpit uses a floating centre console, exposed seat brackets and clever tech like hollow flax cone speakers that reflect the A110’s lightweight construction and sense of purpose but the build quality and comfort factor is superb, every control is so perfectly and naturally weighted.
