For sale this lovely original 1963 Morris LD 1. 5 ton van.
We bought this in 2016 with the intention of making it into an advertising medium for our business, but have been too busy to concentrate on it.
The advantage is that this is so big inside. The max height is 5'8" and there is room to make it nearly 6' by lowering the timber floor/ bed of the van (this is floorboards and joists much like a house). It would make a spectacular camper conversion due to the large space inside and the timber construction meaning its easy to build onto.
The van is in working order, I have replaced things as they have come up and done a lot of work on the brakes. It drives well, if you were going a long way ear defenders are a benefit. We did a 350 mile round trip to Goodwood last year and it happily goes along at 50MPH. It does need a new exhaust as this has rusted.
The engine is the van's original 2. 2 Petrol unit which is the same as an Austin Healey 100/ 4 - meaning parts are available, and this van has performance potential ready to be unlocked! THe gearbox is a 4 speed that works well.
