1977 MGB CONVERTIBLE FOR SALE

The MGB is a two door sports car manufactured and marketed from 1962 until 1980 by the British Motor Corporation as a four cylinder, soft top sports car. The roadster was the first of the MGB range to be produced. It was announced and its details first published on 19 September 1962. Variants include the MGB GT coupe, the six cylinder sports car and coupe MGC, and the MGB GT V8. Sales for the MGB, MGC and MGB GT V8 totaled 523, 836 cars. After a 12 year hiatus, the MGB re entered production as the heavily modified MG RV8 with a limited run of 2, 000 cars before finally being replaced in 1995 by the MG F. The MGB achieved a 0–60 mph time of just over 11 seconds. The three bearing 1, 798 cc B-Series engine produced 95 hp at 5, 400 rpm and was upgraded in October 1964 to a five bearing crankshaft. From 1975 ride height was increased by an inch, and distinctive rubber bumpers were fitted to meet bumper standards. All MGBs were fitted with disc brakes on the front with drum brakes on the rear.

This 1977 MGB Convertible has just come out of long term ownership. As far as we know the engine and transmission are original to the car. This car was with the previous owners family since new. Has just under 32, 000 original miles. The vehicle does run and drive but requires a little more work to make it completely roadworthy. Transmission is a manual four speed. Has power brakes, with disc on the front and drums on the rear. Previous owner replaced the brake master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, hydraulic hose and radiator hoses. Has the original wheels with the factory spare in the trunk. Has new MG decals that run down the side of the vehicle. This vehicle is complete and has no rust.

The interior on the car is complete and in good condition. The gauges are all there and the dash is uncut. Has an aftermarket stereo with aftermarket speakers. Dash has no cracks, door panels and seats are in good shape. Has the original MG steering wheel. As far as we know the paint on the vehicle is all original. Has the factory luggage rack. Tires on the car look fairly new. Has nice MG floor mats. Manual windows roll up and down without any problems. Has the tonneau cover, convertible top cover, etc. Great car and doesn't need much to be a car that can be driven and enjoyed.
