A beautiful usable example in sublime condition.
The current owner of this TR4A was in fact the first owner of the car back in 1965, and after 3 years of much enjoyed ownership then sold the car on. After all those years the original keeper came across a photo of the car, which was taken when it was new, and began to wonder whether the car was still in existence. After running an insurance check on the car, he was delighted to see that the car was in fact insured and still in existence! Some research and many phone calls later, the gentleman managed to track the car back down and was contacted by the (then) owner of the car, who had stored the car for 15 years with a view to eventually restoring the car, but he had never got around to it. A deal was done, and the original owner was reunited with a car which he had not seen since it left his ownership in 1968!
The car has had a considerable amount of work carried out in it's previous ownership including a body off repaint back to it's original red, as at some stage in it's life it had been repainted in blue. For many years the car was kept in France and was used there, until the owner decided to bring it home to the UK.
Since the car was purchased back in 2014, the current owner has invested a lot of time and money into bringing the car back to first class condition, with the help of Classic Cars Cardiff.
The work carried out includes;
New chrome wire wheels and Blockley radial tyres
Brand new brakes
Upgraded suspension
Brand new wiring loom
Rebuilt overdrive
In addition to this, there is a full file of paperwork on work carried out and MOT's dating back to 1965, as well as a copy of the original and continuation registration book showing previous owners, including the current owners company showing as the first keeper.
This is a TR4A that really needs to be seen to be appreciated.
