A very original car with remarkably only 2 owners from new. The most recent owner being Porsche racing specialists Historika and previously the original owner maintained the car for 33 years taking care of service and maintenance requirements as required, so you know it’s been in good hands.
This is a great fun drivers car with the excellent shifting dog leg gearbox which as a package makes for an agile handling 924 with engaging driving dynamics on open country roads but is equally at home crunching miles on the motorway.
The car has been exceptionally well cared for and is a very presentable car that has had all of the usual service requirements taken care of over it’s lifetime and most recently new fuel filter and fuel lines, cam belt and tensioner, brake discs and pads and 4 new Porsche N rated Bridgestone tyres.
The body is straight and good condition for its age. The front end has been painted at some point, there are stone chips and a few touch up spots but overall all panels are in good order. There are a few minor dings and chips as you would expect for a car of this age.
The whole interior, switch gear, door trims etc are in great condition as is the dash which is exceptional compared with many! All instruments are clear and working and all door cards, rear door cards, parcel shelf cover etc are all excellent.
Superb history file including MOT’s back to 1987, original price list and sales brochure, a documented AFN Porsche main dealer stamped service booklet, AFN document holder with extensive main dealer invoices from 1982 and even the original AFN sales invoice with the documented cost of £15, 670. The car also still retains its original AFN/ Porsche number plates.
Options included: Sports seats, metallic paint, electric passenger door mirror, 16” Forged alloy wheels (as pictured) speedo with 2 scales, headlamp washers, leather steering wheel and shift boot, tinted windows. Optioned without a sunroof.
The 924’s are becoming widely accepted as a great easy to own classic that has a good cult following. Pure form and function, 924’s are easy to live with and make good usable everyday classics. The 924 turbo of this era is very rare with only around 60 survivors in UK RHD.
It’s becoming increasingly hard to find ones that back up their history with such comprehensive service records. If you are after a very reliable, drivable 924 with excellent history and recent maintenance taken care of, this could be the car for you.
