Beschreibung
In the early 60s Toyo Kogyo Co. Ltd. consulted their Turin resident Hideyuki Miyakawa on commissioning the right Italian coachbuilder for their upcoming saloon project. Bertone agreed and in 1963 in-house Giugaro-penned Luce (Italian for 'illuminated') was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show. The car did not immediately go into production permitting Giugaro to revise his design. Departing from the ISO Rivolta-insired small saloon theme, Giugiaro freely created a large yet sleek sedan that that beared several sportier traits from Alfa Romeo and Corvair. The final design that would go into production was a hybrid of both versions edited by Mazda’s Tainanji Oda. From 1967 to 1972 over 1mi units were delivered worldwide.
The Luce offered here was produced in 1969 and dispatched to Athens, Greece. After half a century, this it presents with exceptional originality and working order and comes with original delivery documents.
