Era classics are pleased to be offering for sale this lovely series 3 that has just been subject to a full respray to an excellent standard in its classic period correct and original colour of bronze green.
First registered on 15/ 09/ 1972 this low owner S3 retains its original 2. 25 diesel engine but with the addition of the all important Fairey overdrive which ensures a much smoother, more fuel efficient and enjoyable drive with an increase in pace thus further extending the fun of this series 3.
With recent service work and pre sale inspection just completed, this LR is very well presented, mechanically sound and either a reliable work horse or just a great fun classic that is ready to roam immediately.
The original chassis is solid and structurally sound and has been well preserved over the years and overall this LR shows light duty throughout its life. Odometer is showing an unconfirmed mileage of 36445.

Including LR specialist service work, new Fairey overdrive, full respray, new canvas hood, all new seats, new gauges, dials, new classic wooden steering wheel, soundproofing to doors, floors and bulkhead, new mats, new heavy duty battery, 4 matching BF Goodrich all terrain tyres with plenty of tread and freshly powder coated wheels, new trims, new door locks, new starter motor, brake and oil service and full valet.
Missing the jack but retails it’s starter handle, wooden and metal jack handles and wheel brace.
All bodywork and panels are nicely straight and all galvanised trim is in great condition as are window surrounds with clear glass all round. The roof is brand new with a nice clear rear screen and makes for a fun summer ride when rolled up.
Dash and instruments are all clear and although now showing signs of wear and tear its still in relatively good shape for its age. Dash top vent heater and fan switch works giving out just enough heat to clear the screen. Brand new seats and seat belts make the cabin feel fresh and a comfortable place to be.
This S3 drives lovely, springs are compliant and it’s not an overly stiff ride. Engine idles nicely and delivers plenty of torque and power that is enhanced effectively by the overdrive throughout 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. Gear selections are easy and all ratios select as they should.
Although MOT exempt it's just been though a fresh MOT for additional peace of mind.
