Description
Battista Pininfarina was born on November 2nd 1893 in Italy and passed on April 3rd, 1966. The Alfa Romeo Spider was his last creation to which he infused 40 years of design experience. The decade-long task entailed recruiting Aldo Brovarone and creating several concept cars including Alfa Romeo Supeflow, Alfa Romeo Spider Super Sport and Alfa Romeo Giuletta SS Spider Aerodinamica. The end result was a form of unprecedented purity and simplicity that automotive manufacturers struggle to reinvent to this day. Production begun in 1966 and lasted 27 years. Of the 4 generations, the last one was introduced in 1990 and featured colour coded bumpers, revised tailights, Bosch Motronic electronic injection system for 2. 0 lt engine option, 3-way catalyst, power steering, bucket leather seats with Alcantara inserts and a series of minor interior upgrades.
The Spider offered was manufactured a year before the end of production in Nero over beige leather interior and dispatched to Athens, Greece. Despite regular maintenance, it has been treated with a full body respray, trunk reconditioning, seat and door panel trim in full leather, new soft top fitting and an A/ C installation. It comes with comprehensive service records and FIVA certificate of authenticity.
