ClassicClassics are thrilled to offer this lovely Mimosa Yellow Mk1 Triumph Stag.
Built for the home market on 7th December 1971 and then subsequently sent to its supplying dealer Martin Walter Limited in Margate Kent on the 13th December 1971, CKK 338K was first registered on 7th February 1972. DVLA records show this Stag has had only 2 registered keepers since 1988.
CKK 338K was fitted with the factory options of Overdrive gearbox, Colour coded hard top, Inertia reel seat belts and 185. 14 Avon tyres.
Subject to a full ground up restoration with full bare metal body respray and mechanical work in 1990 with photographs to show the work carried out. The underbody was also painted body colour and has been clear waxoyl to keep in fantastic condition. All work was carried out by Newbourne Auto’s in Luton. The Stag has been sparingly used since and this shows today as the car still retains a good deep shine and presents very well indeed. The panel gaps and shut lines are very good too.
Still powered by a Stag 3. 0 litre V8 the engine has had some upgrades to include stainless steel exhaust with tubular headers, upgraded cooling with Supergill 2 radiator, Oil cooler and Stagweber header tank system including low level warning buzzer along with an upgraded water pump and electronic ignition. In March 2017 @125400 miles new timing chains were fitted, now on 130468 miles. At the same time both rear driveshafts were replaced with CV type driveshafts. As a result of recent upgrades the Triumph Stag runs and drives superb and can’t help but put a big smile on your face every time you are behind the wheel.
