This magnificent Rover P6 has been the subject of an extensive restoration, which is documented in its huge paperwork file. Anyone who remembers these Rovers will know that the engines are very reliable and robust, and the ride experience is sheer quality.
The bodywork is superb and rust-free, with an impressive deep red shine and very straight panels and clean sharp arches all round. The interior of the car has been restored to a very high standard too with biscuit leather and crimson piping to complement its impressive looks.
Under the bonnet the engine bay is scrupulously clean, and the engine has been fitted with a new water pump and deep cleaned from top to bottom. The engine itself is the single overhead camshaft 2. 2-litre version which delivers a capable 115hp and makes the car easily capable of keeping pace with modern traffic. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual gearbox.
Top speed is quoted at 108 mph.
This Rover’s previous owner was a gentleman who really knew his classic cars and who invested a lot of time and effort as well as expense in maintaining them in stunning condition. We don’t doubt the next owner will treasure this true classic as much as he did.
