Description
MGC GT – Superb Specification - £50, 000 spent
The MGC, planned as a replacement for the Austin Healey 3000, was based on the MGB and intended as a long distance tourer with a smooth straight six engine developing 150bhp, a top speed in excess of 120mph and, most importantly, an utterly addictive soundtrack.
The initial launch was a public relations disaster with wrong tyre pressures and poorly prepared cars, but history has been kind to the ‘C’ and today good examples – particularly of the CGT with overdrive - are rightly recognised as a classic grand tourer.
At Milestone Classics we do like to market outstanding GT’s and when this stunning example was offered to us, we simply could not refuse. The car was purchased by the current owner around seven years ago (cost £25, 000) and has lived in a heated/ dehumidified garage and not seen wet road since.
Finished in the original colour scheme of Mineral Blue with black leather interior this UK market car was the subject of a £35, 000 body restoration & engine rebuild (Robin Lackford) during 2017 and more recently the rear-axle was rebuilt (Heathrow Transmissions) and expensive Frontline 5 link rear suspension fitted.

On the road the car is utterly capable and the ultimate long-distance GT. Equally at home on a trip to Spain, Goodwood Revival car park or simply a blast down to the beach this is, we believe, the best sorted MGC GT on the market today.
An opportunity not to be missed....
