Description

1936 Riley 12/ 4 Lynx

Registered in Coventry on 23rd June 1936, this 1936 Riley Lynx is now offered for sale reluctantly after 32 years in the hands of its present owner and is eager for new adventures. It has been well maintained and serviced annually, mostly by marque specialists Blue Diamond.

A higher rear axle ratio and twin SU carburettors give an improvement in performance and cruising speed and the engine maintains very good oil pressure at all times. The brakes are good and the preselector gearbox changes smoothly with the car feeling taut and inspiring confidence on the road as a Riley should.

The car was clearly restored some years ago, and now has mellowed in appearance which gives it real character. The hood, tonneau cover and sidescreens are elderly but adequate.

There are several historic photos, which date from pre-war times, showing the car competing in a trial and also participating at Bexhill-On-Sea Concours D’Elegance when almost new, plus another showing it in wartime guise with blackout white markings and headlamp masks.

Also supplied are numerous bills etc and previous MOT certificates and the plaque from the Bexhill Concours event.
