I am selling an excellent 1965 Bristol 408 MKII. The history and all service work is known. The car comes with 2 thick binders with invoices, reports, service receipts, pictures and much more. The car was auctioned at Sotheby's in 1996 and then restored over the next 15 years without regard to high costs. Much of the work was done at the Bristol factory. The total expenditure far exceeds 100, 000 EUR. New paint (silver over Bristol blue, engine and transmission overhauled, new radiator, new brakes, new wood interior, new leather, new carpets, new windows and much more. The chassis and body (aluminum, Superlegera construction) were extensively restored at Bristol. Since then, the car has been moved only with great care.
The mileage of approx. 64, 000 miles is documented by complete MOT reports. Also all owners are known and documented. The car is one of the rare MK II models and has the chassis number 408-7209. It is illustrated several times in the Bristol book "Cars Model by Model" by Sir George White as a reference for the Model 408. It is a matching number car!
The car is on new historically correct Stella Bianca tires by Pirelli, which are approved for the car's maximum speed of about 220 km/ h. The power of the 5200 cc V8 engine is 250 hp.
The car is registered with a German historical license plate and can be driven for a test drive in good weather by arrangement. The Bristol 408 was the gentleman's express of the 60's and compared to Aston Martin DB5 and Ferrari 250 GT of that time it is extremely cheap today. Ich verkaufe einen exzellenten 1965 Bristol 408 MKII. Die Historie und alle Servicearbeiten sind bekannt. Zum Fahrzeug gehören 2 dicke Ordner mit Rechnungen, Berichten, Servicebelegen, Bildern und vielem mehr. Der Wagen wurde 1996 bei Sotheby´s versteigert und danach in den nächsten 15 Jahren ohne Rücksicht auf hohe Kosten restauriert. Viele Arbeiten wurden im Bristol-Werk durchgeführt. Die Gesamtausgaben überschreiten 100. 000 EUR bei weitem. Neue Lackierung (Silber über Bristol-Blau, Motor und Getriebe überholt, neuer Kühler, neue Bremsen, neues Holz innen, neues Leder, neue Teppiche, neue Scheiben und vieles mehr. Das Chassis und die Karosse (Aluminium, Superlegera-Bauweise) wurden aufwendig bei Bristol restauriert. Seitdem wurde der Wagen nur mit großer Sorgfalt bewegt.
Die Laufleistung von ca. 64. 000 Meilen ist durch lückenlose MOT-Berichte belegt. Ebenfalls sind alle Eigentümer bekannt und dokumentiert. Das Fahrzeug gehört zu den seltenen MK II-Modellen und hat die Fahrgestellnummer 408-7209. Es ist in dem Bristol Buch „Cars Model by Model“ von Sir George White mehrfach als Referenz für das Model 408 abgebildet. Es ist ein "matching number" Fahrzeug.
Der Wagen steht auf neuen historisch korrekten Stella Bianca Reifen von Pirelli, die für die maximale Geschwindigkeit des Fahrzeuges von ca. 220 km/ h zugelassen sind. Die Leistung des 5200 ccm großen V8-Motors beträgt 250 PS.
