Welcome to our 1971 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 6. 6 V8 TH400. Finished in red with black leather seats and interior. Fitted with 15×8 Pontiac GTS alloy wheels and General Grabber tyres. Subject to a full body and paint restoration, a fully re-built and upgraded high-output 400 V8, rebuilt TH400 gearbox, new black leather Formula 400 embossed bucket seats and new interior and carpets. Trans-Am machined dash and Formula leather steering wheel.
A truly special and rare “Bullnose” Firebird restored to fundamentally stock factory specification and look but with some aesthetic additions and upgrades.
Front page featured in American Car Magazine in their September 2012 edition with a 7-page spread entitled The Secret Formula. A copy of which along with CD’s and photos is included in the 2 History/ Restoration files that come with it.
In addition to the work carried out featured above the following owner went even further spending around £15, 000 in 2016 on having the 400 engine and gearbox rebuilt and upgraded, detailed invoices are also contained in the files.
Previously sold by ourselves in 2017. We have now had it serviced and tuned and have fitted a new set of US Muscle alloy wheels.
All in all, a quite exceptional Firebird. They didn’t make the Bullnose for long and the Formula 400 version is regarded by many as one of the rarest and the best.
