We are pleased to offer this very fine example of Ford’s iconic Model T.
A ‘Touring’ model, the ‘T’ dates from 1917 which was the first year that the Model T was fitted with the black painted radiator cowl and the curved bonnet, known as the ‘Low Hood’.
Survivors from 1917 are comparatively rare because the world was at war; certainly very few made it to Europe at that time.
This example is believed to have spent its early years in France. It was imported to the UK in 1981 and wears a period Bournemouth registration which is a nice touch.
The car was extensively restored a few years ago and presents very well in the obligatory black. We are informed also that the engine was rebuilt, the radiator reconditioned and a new hood fitted at the same time.
Mercifully, the car is fitted with an electric starter – regarded as a wise modification. It is also fitted with an alternator, direction indicators and a battery isolator.
The black leather button back seats are in very good condition.
The Model T starts readily and all the controls work as they should.
A lovely example and ready to use.
