1969 Lotus Elan + 2S 2. 0 Restomod 5 Speed Manual. Full Restomod conversion by industry specialists Spydercars of Whittlesey to an exacting specification and standard for its motorsport client, with over £65K invested.
Fully updated with a new and tuned Ford Zetec 2 litre engine running throttle-body fuel injection and a 5 speed Ford MT75 gearbox, fitted into a bespoke Spydercars Spaceframe Chassis and running gear. This particular car’s initial build was fully featured in a 4-part monthly series in Practical Performance Car magazine (copies available with the car)
The car features many bodywork enhancements over standard, in particular, subtle aero-work to the front and rear of the car to minimise lift, making a noticeable improvement to higher speed stability over the standard car.
Modern updates include xenon headlights with full electric headlamp pod conversion, a recent new stainless exhaust system, including a new stainless tubular manifold. Recent 2021 £10k full ‘body off chassis’ respray with a new interior out refresh, to include new headlining, Momo wood-rimmed steering wheel, a new and uprated battery and a bespoke designed boot compartment with full sized matching alloy wheel and integral safety isolator switch and battery charging port, even new and stylish red seat belts.
This car is an exceptional example and would make a great opportunity to acquire a truly unique car, covering just a little over 6000 miles since its completion.
The Restomod aspect of this car transforms its appeal, the bigger, more modern engine, gearbox and running gear bring everyday usability and drivability, whilst still fully retaining its classic charm.
