Beschreibung
The MK3 version of the ADO16 or 1100 was launched in 1971 with re-styled interior, front grille and various other detail changes. It was produced until June 1974, over 12 months after the launch of the Allegro.
This car is a 1973 Austin 1100 in damask red. It came to us as a part exchange on a more expensive 1100 that we sold recently. It presents in fine order and has at some stage had a light restoration. The underside is in rock solid order thanks to dealer supplied under-seal and cavity protection and runs and drives beautifully. The mileage is correct at 70, 000 from new backed up by a folder of MOT’s back to the first one in 1976 at 15, 000 miles.
The under-bonnet and boot area are all excellent and the upper body is free from rot – the paint finish is good, if not quite show standard, with the odd very minor imperfection. The interior is also very good and everything works, including the additional vacuum and oil pressure gauges.
The last owner used this 1100 (and another ADO16) as his daily driver and spent some time improving this car - amongst other jobs he fitted rubber splash panels inside the wheel arches to prevent mud getting to the trumpets and inner panels, four new tyres, correct Austin hubcaps and front discs and pads.
Comes with various old MOT’s and tax discs, heritage certificate, original handbook and current V5 showing just four previous owners.
Ready to use and great value for money.
Viewing near Toddington, Beds.
