DON'T hang around thinking about this one if it appeals to you. It is now exactly 20 years since I owned one of these fabulous cars and, even then, that was before my lifelong hobby turned into a business. It was my own car and I used it daily for two years. All in all, the best classic car I have ever owned!
If you are reading this then you probably know what these big Triumphs are all about. Straight six, fuel injection and like the proverbial s... off a shovel!
This is a one owner car from new. I am having to guess that this 50-year-old beauty was probably purchased by someone in his 30s at new. That's just a guess of course. He could have been 20 or 40. Anyway, it has only covered 2, 000 miles since 1984 and so it would be wise to assume that it may need a gentle check over before being hurled back into high speed action.
The V5 is the old style 1970s one. I did about six miles in her today, just to warm her up and let her have a run. She cruised beautifully, running on all six cylinders. And My God, is she quick. Overdrive is not working. Overdrive switches are usually faulty on either the solenoid or the switch itself.
She looks sound underneath and her interior is stunning, showing no wear to vinyl or woodwork. Only the original carpets show the passage of time. Body wise, many would be happy with her as she is. However, she is not trying to be a trailer queen and could be improved in some cosmetic areas should the second owner elect to do so.
A rare opportunity. But she is not a 10k example and so please don't expect that. However, she is one owner from new - truly amazing - goes like the clappers and has a superb interior. Be quick.
The classic cars I sell are motoring antiques. There may be a few dozen left of any one model, maybe more and maybe less. Most of them had lives that lasted anywhere between three and seven years (on average). Today's classics are all rare. They have survived. Please do not come and look at one of my cars from the 30s, 40s or 50s and point out some blemishes. Do the maths and work out their ages. If these ancient motor cars are not your cup of tea then please don't make an appointment and come and insult them. Buy a three-year-old BMW if that is your thing. Some are restored to a huge degree; some have never been touched and remain original with warts and all. No two will ever be the same. They are not in a showroom "bulled up" for your perusal. I pride myself on being able to find different and interesting - to me at any rate - classic cars and then finding new homes for them. Understand that and we shall all get on very well indeed. I can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote. Many thanks. Martin. the details below).
