A vibrant Mimosa Yellow Triumph TR6 in cracking condition

Price: €32, 995 Year: 1973 Miles: 98, 597

History File – The Triumph TR6 Model was produced between 1968 and 1976 and from the total 94, 619 produced, an incredible 92% were actually exported. Our stunning Mimosa Yellow example, with chassis number CF 3251 U is no exception; British Heritage Trust having confirmed that our recent arrival to Cathedral Classics was exported to Canada in early 1973 before arriving back in Europe in late 2021. Imported to Germany by a marque specialist it has been extensively renovated before achieving Historical (Oldtimer) registration and status. Now ready for the 2022 season it would make a great addition to any collection or be suitable for any first time classic buyer.

Exterior – Not many cars can “pull off” yellow but, our Mimosa example look’s as confident as a six year old wearing his new Spider Man outfit! This Triumph colour was simply meant to be in TR6 guise and this cracking 1973 specimen will not disappoint. Freshly painted in its original factory colour it’s given the car a complete new lease of life. The internal body panels are still very fresh with factory decals still in place so the new outside paint has simply bloomed the car again. A new black pvc soft top has added to the package so any new potential owner should be absolutely thrilled. Drop the roof and it reveals a splendid Roll-Bar with its very own integrated high intensity break light. Both features are a common sight in ex-Canada cars, and can be removed upon request but, why would you want to? All contrasting chrome and bright-work are in gleaming condition against the head-turning yellow exterior: both front and rear bumpers with pertinent Bullet mirrors and, of course, the quality boot-rack. British Motor Industry Heritage Trust has confirmed the displayed Body Number 3370-CF matches our chassis number CF 3251 U.

Interior – It’s an incredibly fresh looking interior with crisp markings on all switch gear and dials and gives it an almost like new appearance. Standard PVC seats with adjustable head restraints are in fine condition and are well matched to all other black trim elements: dashboard top; door trim cards; sun-visors; black carpeting and additional Triumph emblem rubber mats are all in crisp condition. A period Blaupunkt radio-cassette is appropriately set in the cars original veneer covered dashboard. With the new PVC top down, it sits nicely in place and is covered by a good half tonneau with a full compliment of studs.

Engine & Transmission – Lifting the bonnet reveals a very tidy engine bay with plenty of chrome to keep you smiling whilst cleaning?. Heritage Trust has confirmed that our 2. 5 Litre 2498cc engine - number CF 43732 UF - is actually from a later model and is in fact the more reliable, but still efficient, carbureted 104hp (78 kW) version. In February 2022 the car had a complete carburetor clean-out with a new coil and electronic (Petronix) ignition fitted. The all synchromesh 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive are both functioning well.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes – A complete set of 5 new wire wheels with chrome winged Knock-On’s are covered in high quality (almost new) Michelin 205/ 65R 15 M&S tyres. Front disc and rear drum brakes pull the car up straight and correct.
