1923 Bullnose Morris Cowley Tourer.

Vin Number: 26819

Registration number: NM3358

One of the most original & delightful Bull Nose Morrises we have had the pleasure to handle. This car was first owned by a lady in Biggleswade, one Harriet Anne Turner, the wife of George Turner, a chemist, wine & spirit agent. It seems the car reminedin the family until 1966 or so & appears to be a low mileage chassis.

The car abounds in period brass details from the rear numberplate lamp to the scuttle mounted Lucas oil can with a plethora of other details in between. Even the underseat timbers are original bearing the body number stamped into the wood 12690. The seats are covered in thick leather pattern grey rexine & are in super unworn condition.

The grey paint is lightly patinated with just the right amount of cracking & starring to give a period appearance. Under the bonnet the engine bay is immaculate with everything where it ought to be down to the farbic coupling to the magneto drive. The wooden dash board has a full quota of period instrumentation including a dash mounted St Christopher medallion.

5 New beaded edge tyres are fitted to the steel artillery wheels. THe hood is in good order & has a hood bag to keep it tidy wwhen furled. The car also has side screens, albeit little used & an assortment of tools.

The car has been under the long term ownership of a vintage car enthusiast where it has shared garage space with nore illustirious & high value cars from Vauxhall, Sunbeam & Rolls Royce. It is impeccably looked after & maintained being used sparingly for high days & holidays. It starts instantly once the fuel is turned on & the Carb flooded & settles down to an even idle. The 3 speed crash box is very east to master & the car as a whole is really a pleasure to drive. The steering is taut & direct with no free play.

The car comes with a Morris Road book which ably dispenses touring advice along with a wide assortment of period advertising which makes for fascinating reading. The current owner who many many years ago was vintage & veteran car dealer is now of an age where he is ready to move the car on. A spare freshly rebuilt engine & gear box is available with the car by separate negotiation although seeomingly superflouous given the super state of the current engine.

Simply put I have not seen a better one. We have recenlty sold a couple of other over restored examples neither of which came anywhere close to this one for charm & originality. It is without doubt the best I have handled.
