1969 Triumph Herald, 1500 engine, fully restored, Sold SOLD
In metallic Plum with red seats and black carpets.
This superb Herald was supplied new in March 1969 by W. T. Richards of Bexleyheath to Miss Joyce Linnard who, according to the original order form, part exchanged her 1955 Morris Minor. The large and comprehensive history file with invoices, MOT certificates and documents going back to 1969 also includes the original Hand Book and Service book confirming today's low mileage of 54, 000.
In 1986, the Triumph went to Manchester for £250. 00 and stayed with few owners until 2016 when it was fully restored and fitted with a 1500 engine, a stainless steel exhaust and disc brakes and converted to wire wheels. The beautiful original, unworn interior was retained with the just the carpets being renewed.
A customer of ours purchased the Herald and has spent the last year fettling it with new brakes (calipers, hoses, wheel cylinders), a new headlining, new rear shock absorbers, a new water pump and various bushes and seals were replaced. He also had the radiator overhauled and he fitted electronic ignition and front seat belts. He also registered it correctly with the DVLA has having a 1, 493cc engine.
The car is in fantastic condition with immaculate bodywork and deep, rich paintwork. The underside is clean and correct and the underbonnet is detailed and in excellent order. The interior is unmarked. The engine upgrade works beautifully and really gives the Herald extra pep and the whole car feels well sorted.
