Here we have a gorgeous example of an Austin Healey Frogeye MK1 Sprite repainted in Iris Blue, which was once its original color as well. This fantastic example has been fully restored by its previous owner with a lot of care and attention. The car was built in 1959 as an export and lived its life in San Bernardino, South California. It’s Still equipped with its original engine, has drum brakes all around, and comes with both original Side Screens as well. While it was in the U. S. A. it had two owners and since it was brought back to the U. K. and registered here in 2018, it only had one owner.
The body has seen over 60 hours of bodywork and another 30 worth of finishing off and painting to look as amazing as it does now. In between the stages it received new brake shoes, bushings, and all-around service replacing all the fluids and seals along any needed components to get it to run smoothly including an engine service replacing the Timing Chain, Water Pump, Gaskets, and lots of other bits. There are receipts worth thousands of pounds that show everything that was replaced during the restoration process, to offer you the peace of mind that this little Frogeye is ready for you to enjoy. On the less mechanical side of things, the seats have received brand new vinyl covers that make the whole inside feel refreshed while still maintaining the correct look.
The car was imported back in the U. K. with 53, 296 miles and the odometer is currently showing 53, 628 so that means in other words that this beauty did less than 500 miles since it’s been fully restored.
