i have had the rav garage stored since 2019 periodically starting the car and running around to ensure nothing seized up
the car has just been with an independent classic car specialist in shere near guildford surrey who works on an individual car basis !!
my remit to him was to go through the toyota . attend to all previous mot advisories and return it to me in a1 condition
during the process the following work was completed

new "continental" timing / cambelt
new water pump

new centre section exhaust
new front brake discs
new front pads

the underside of the car was steam cleaned , checked for any corrosion then rust protected with a long under body protection
the front subframe ( a known weak spot on mk1 rav4s ) was showing signs of surface corrosion so it was removed and replaced with a reconditioned/ refurbished unit £345. 00 !
check for any oil leaks ..... none found !
needless to say there with 16 hours labour and the parts needed there is an invoice in the file for
£2445. 25 !!!!!
the rav starts on the button and runs like a swiss watch with no nasty noises , rattling or smoking
its drives beautifully with no knocks or clonks from the suspension or drivetrain !

i don't think it would be possible to find a better more cherished 24 year old example
mechanically the car is incredible it starts 1st time at the first flick of the key and runs like a swiss watch !!
the exterior paintwork gleams ! there is no body corrosion or damage ! other than a few tiny touched in stone chips and a few barely noticeable parking dings the rav4 fundamentally looks immaculate
its so clear how loved this car has been !!
the interior is superb with the front and rear seats having been fitted with seat covers until i purchased it !!
its hard to believe its a 24 year old car and the interior is as good as the exterior !!
the headlining is spotless
the dash is free from cracks
the carpets are excellent having been covered from new with over mats
the door cards are free from scuffs and damage as is the rear tailgate
im not even sure anybody has ever sat in the back
even the boot load area is outstandingly clean and tidy
the rear spare wheel is also a vx alloy and fitted with a road legal tyre and a genuine toyota rav4 lockable wheel cover
the underside of the car is exceptional and not the typical rav4 rust box !!

ok why am i selling it ..... well as previously mentioned i'm moving overseas soon and i cant justify taking this incredible car with me
