This beautiful modern-classic Jaguar S-Type is actually our own mother's pride and joy. She passed in late 2019 and we have been unable to let the car go until now. It feels like the right time to pass it on to a new owner who will enjoy and cherish it, so we are finally offering it for sale. It's a very lightly used example of this increasingly desirable car, just months away from being eligible for classic car insurance. It's an 'X202' 2003 Model Year version, so it comes with the electronic parking brake, the upgraded 6 speed ZF-6HP26 automatic gearbox, revised 3. 0 V6 engine and various interior revisions too.
It has covered just 68, 000 miles across 20 years, averaging 3, 400 miles per year, confirmed by the detailed service history (mostly main dealer) and the complete MOT history from DVSA. The S-Type was launched to the public in 1999 and was, at the time, a controversial, retro-styled car with a name harking back to a model from the 1960’s. Despite that the S-Type was better received than its older namesake and was almost universally praised for its quality feel and surprisingly good dynamics. It was superbly refined and the ride quality was excellent, while it also handled sharply, but the Jaguar’s real strength was long distance comfort. Thanks to its wonderful ride, the S-Type is a perfect car for covering lots of motorway miles – there’s little engine or road noise and the suspension does a superb job of smoothing out uneven roads.
Launched during Ford’s ownership of Jaguar, the S-Type shared a platform and some components with cars such as the Lincoln LS and Ford Thunderbird of the period. The S-Type’s driving position is excellent, with a low slung seat and plenty of adjustment in the steering column, while the instrument dials are easy to read. All the controls for the stereo and air conditioning are on the central console and fairly simple to get used to.
The interior of the S-Type is a luxurious place to spend time and this one is beautifully trimmed in grey leather^ which we've just refurbished and conditioned. It is a great colourway in combination with the Zircon Blue Metallic exterior colour. The dash front, steering wheel, centre console and door cards all feature very attractive, complimentary areas of birds’ eye maple grey veneer which enhances the luxurious ambiance of this interior. Complementary coloured carpets are in great original condition too, helping to make this distinctive and well-presented cabin an appealing place to travel in exceptional comfort.
K14GGG is a great example of the type, running smoothly, gliding along with serenity and grace, but when you want some pace, press the sport button, push a little harder on the throttle and listen to the V6 wake up as you accelerate. It's really quite a lovely experience, being cosseted by the plush interior that seems to wrap it's arms around you as you climb aboard.
Mechanically, we've spent time having any niggles sorted properly and have just had the car fully serviced and checked over by one of our highly-regarded Jaguar specialists (Kent Jag Centre), so it comes with the reassurance of knowing that everything works as it should. The beautiful leather upholstery has been cleaned and conditioned using products from the excellent 'Furniture Clinic' range and is in absolutely amazing condition for an almost 20 year old car. The interior of the car in general is in truly remarkable condition, as befits such a well-maintained, low-mileage car. These Jaguar saloons have long been praised for their comfort, refinement and that sense of 'special occasion', making this an appealing classic with low original mileage and a fantastic history.
The exterior is equally impressive. All 'car park' dents and blemishes have been rectified and the alloy wheels refurbished and looking fabulous. The car is presented impeccably, having just been the subject of a comprehensive 'Diamond' valet from our partners at Carla's Valeting, including paint decontamination, ultra-hydrophobic sealant to bodywork and glazing, headlamp restoration and premium bodywork wax. The space-saver spare wheel is in unused condition along with the original toolkit. Well-kept, original S-Type Jaguars are becoming rare and cars of this calibre, mileage and provenance even more so.

This fantastic car comes with an extensive provenance, with a complete pack of the original manuals and handbooks, 11 service stamps in the book and lots of receipts.
In the first 8 years of its life, up to 2010 the car had covered just under 50, 000 miles, averaging a very low 6, 218 miles per year. From 2010 through to the end of 2015 the car then travelled a little over 9, 000 miles, averaging an astonishingly low 1, 512 miles per year. From 2016 through to 2019, under our mothers ownership, the car travelled less than 7, 000 miles, averaging 2, 333 miles per year. We've since travelled an additional 3, 500 miles in this lovely Jaguar and enjoyed every moment.

The most miles travelled between services was 14, 700, between services 3 and 4. The average miles travelled between all services has been 6172.
