The Series E announced in October 1938[9] brought a major restyle with a “waterfall” dummy grille, headlights in the wings and the running boards had gone. The car was longer, wider and heavier but the wheelbase was 1-inch (25 mm) shorter at 7 feet 5 inches (2. 26 m). There was also a parcel tray the full width of the dashboard. The “alligator” bonnet was now rear hinged.
Craner Classics are delighted to offer this beautiful example of a 1948 Morris 8 Series E four door saloon finished in green over black paintwork.
The car presents extremely well with good paintwork and chromework.
The interior is in excellent order with brown leather seats and door cards complemented by a light beige carpet.
The engine and gearbox are in excellent running order.
The original bakerlite window surrounds and dashboard are all present and correct and in excellent condition too.
The car has recently been fitted with modern indicators mounted onto the front and rear wings for added safety.
The car comes complete with the original buff logbook , workshop manual, service parts booklet, maintenance manual, lubrication chart and an assortment of sales and service invoices. There is also photographic evidence of the restoration to the car.
This is a very desirable car not only due to its excellent condition but also because it’s very easy to store in a
garage.
The car has been very well looked after and this is evident upon inspection.
Early inspection of this vehicle is highly recommended to avoid disappointment.
