An exquisite slice of 1950’s Parisian chic, in unique condition. 1957 was the first year of the Dauphine. Renault went to Paris fashion designers for colour schemes and interiors. Only the early cars, like this one, benefitted.
The car came to me having had a nut and bolt rebuild in France, but it hadn’t been finished. I completed the work. I went to great lengths to preserve the original seat and door card fabrics. The front seats were completely rebuilt. It’s as close to brand new in appearance as can be.
Underneath it simply looks new. I carefully Waxoiled everywhere. but it’s hard to spot.
The 850cc engine is lively and pulls well.
Only 911 engine woes force the sale of this lovely car. She only drives it with freshly applied lipstick and her red leather gloves, but my wife will miss it too.
There isn't another Dauphine like this out there.
