Completely original 1954 LHD Jaguar XK120 OTS SE in Old English White (Cream) with Blue Leather Interior, matching numbers and 3 previous owners with Heritage Certificate and only 58677 miles on the clock. This is an original SE model with more powerful engine, wire-wheels, and dual exhaust system. After a 41 year period of storage the car has been completely renovated and re- commissioned with a mandate to retain and preserve originality.
This car has a well documented history file back to 1956. The car was imported to the USA by Charles Hornburg in Los Angeles in 1954. The first owner held the car for 2 years and then sold the car in July 1956 to Mr F J. Mardon. Mr Mardon re-exported the car back to the UK in March 1964 where it was placed into storage with 52000 miles on the clock. It was discovered in a garage by Mr. Chris Window of Racing Green Classics in June 2005. Recognising the potential of a completely unmolested car, Chris purchased the car and proceeded with sympathetic renovation to preserve the originality. The Chassis was perfect with only a thin stipple of surface rust. Most of the renovation concerned body panel repair and replacement of wood floors. The work was completed in 2006 and the car re-registered in the UK.
There is very detailed description of all the work completed together with invoices and many photos. General upgrading has included the following:
A new hood with reconditioned side screens, powder coated and re-chromed with new Perspex.
Brakes completely overhauled- with new piping, wheel cylinders, new dual fluid reservoir, and new linings. New Stainless steel dual exhaust, New Alloy Fuel Tank, Suspension bushes renewed. Petronix ignition system fitted.
The original system of 2x 6 volt batteries in series was replaced with a 2x12 volts in parallel system. At the same time a marine type battery isolator was installed, together with improved earth wiring.
The current owner purchased the car in 2013 with the agreement that the engine and gearbox would be removed for a complete overhaul, and to replace anything worn and upgrade where necessary.
The engine overhaul, ( at mileage 55, 548) included:
Fitting of Fast Road Head, (original head retained in storage), New camchains and camshaft bearings, new valve guides, crankshaft rebuild, New Lip seals and crankshaft Damper, new pistons, new water pump, New clutch, and flywheel drilled and balanced.
The opportunity was taken to replace most of the original wiring loom and to install a solid state fuel pump (original retained). There is a complete description of this engine work together with invoices and detailed photographs.
In order to improve driveability the car is now fitted with Blockley Radial 185VR 16 93V tyres ( in place of the almost new Blockley Cross Ply 6. 00 16H6 retained now in storage.) Bucket seats were built and fitted in place of the original seats which are now in storage.
The original seats require attention to the leather and could be renovated and reinstalled if desired.
The last full service was conducted in November 2022 at 58617 miles, using Valvoline 20/ 50 racing oil which has been used for every service.
In the last ten years the car body has been detailed with clay and finishers 3 times. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire an original XK120. The car looks fantastic and is a pleasure to drive. It starts on the button hot or cold, and is admired wherever it goes. it has lived for the last 10 years in a dehumidified garage and only emerges on dry days.
Included in the sale are all the original items removed including:
Original California plates, fuel pump, original seats, tyres and many small fittings. There are several spares including a reconditioned water pump and many other small spares; plugs , fan belts, oil filter, gaskets, hoses, coils and partial new wiring loom.
Standard equipment includes spare wire wheel and tyre, jacking equipment, tonneau cover, new mohair cover for side screens, tools , period grease gun and tyre pump, and drivers handbook.
Also included is all the original documentation including:
Bill of sale to Mr Marden in 1956, California DMV registration document, Shipping documents and related correspondence, including the documentation following the 1963/ 64 importation to the UK ; Customs and Excise papers, DVLA authorisation for current UK registration, Purchase document from Mrs Mardon (Widow) to Chris Window (now with Winspeed Motorsport), and documentation covering purchase by current owner from Winspeed.
All invoices connected to original renovation work, and all subsequent work are included together with a large file of photographs for the period from recovery from storage through final renovation.

The owner also has the original Jaguar workshop and service manual, and the much sort -after, "Jaguar XK 120 Explored" with over 2500 original drawings, by Bernard Viart, and other XK books which could be sold by separate negotiation.
