Thank you for reading this advert for my 1982 Ford Cortina Mk V 1. 6 GL saloon in Titan Blue.
I have owned the Cortina for 4 years and am only the 3rd owner.
Low mileage is supported by MoT history including paper certificates. Some VED discs on file. MoT until April 2024 with all advisories having been addressed.
No references to corrosion in online MoT history.
During my ownership it has had new front calipers, rear brake cylinders and shoes and precautionary replacement of master cylinder, coil, plugs and HT leads. (Original brake cylinders and coil retained if required)
Inside, the dash is not cracked, door cards are in good condition as are the seats. Carpets appear to be original and are in very good condition, protected in the front by original Ford rubber mats. Original radio. Unmarked perforated headlining
Wheels are in clean condition with almost unmarked chrome embellishers. Goodyear tyres and a brand new spare (budget) tyre.
Outside the paintwork is in generally good condition with a few exceptions. There are some scratches and dings commensurate with age. Bonnet, roof, doors and rear panel in good condition. Panel under front bumper is fair. Boot lid and tops of rear wings have had a rattle can paint job in the past. Only visible close up and I have chosen not to have this redone as it's part of the car's history. Chrome very good on front bumper , a few scratches on rear. All overriders and end caps present.
Under the bonnet it's tidy.
The car runs and drives well but with occasional reluctance to start if left in hot garage and unused in summer for more than a few weeks .
In my ownership never used on salted roads and kept in dehumidified garage.
Comes with original handbooks, Haynes manual, working period Krooklock and steering wheel alarm. Two sets of keys. Gets a lot of attention at shows and elsewhere. Quite rare nowadays. One of the last standard 1. 6 GL Cortinas before the run out Crusader took over. Registered with DVLA as an historic vehicle and therefore zero VED.
A good starter classic that attracts a lot of interest . Use as is or have the boot etc resprayed to take it up several levels.
