SLJ Hackett are proud to offer this 1978 Bristol 412 Series 2, first registered in September 1978 to an advertising company in London. Originally presented in Sliver, which is the same shade of Silver it still wears coupled with Navy Blue leather upholstery. The original front seats have been upgraded to a electronically adjustable sport type seat (original seats present).
The current owner purchased the car in 1993 having spotted one meeting the same description driving along the Strand in London some 20 years prior. Whilst in the current owners ownership the car has had many tasteful upgrades along with important restoration work.
The Targa section is a relatively weak point on the 412 model, in 1996 the complete section was remade and sealed properly meaning it still looks in perfect condition today.
In 1998 the engine began to show signs of its age and so the engine was then fully rebuilt and upgraded by an marque specialist, this includes:
• Tubular manifolds
• Stainless Steel exhaust system
• Ally inlet manifold and cylinder heads
• Larger valves
• Modern Edelbrock carburettor
• Modern electronic ignition
• Pre engaged starter motor
The gearbox has recently been upgraded also to a 4 speed with overdrive replacing the original 3 speed, 80mph is now 2000rpm!
