This example was expertly built over 25 years ago by a former Lotus engineer. The car was built using a Elan 2+2 130 Spyder chassis and an original elite body shell to create what you see today.
This car remains Tax and MOT exempt as a historic vehicle while utilising the services of a recently rebuilt 1500 pre-crossflow engine with a Kent rally cam shaft, twin 40 DCOE weber carbs which then transfer the power to the rear wheels using a ford type 9 5 speed gearbox. This car is a pleasure to drive while developing great power and noise from the stainless steel exhaust system! The oil pressure is perfect at both idle and during road use as is the water temperature too.
Aesthetically this car Is very much correct when you look at it along side an original Elite with it having been built wit the original correct bumpers and brightwork and 15" chrome wire wheels etc. The body remains in fine condition while the interior presents equally as well with recently re-trimmed seats.
For driver convenience there is a 5 dial dash with read outs for speed, tacho, water temperature, volts and oil pressure. all of which work and read perfectly. the car is also fitted with a heater, electric windscreen washers and a fire extinguisher.
