Description

excellent condition, rear wheel drive, leather interior, light blue metallic paintExtremely rare and preserved condition Ford T5 Mustang for sale! The Ford Mustang is an icon of the automotive industry, the most popular model from the Ford factory, in production since 1964. The first generation was the most successful of all, and its popularity was due to it being the first muscle car. It offered blistering performance and was comfortable for up to four adults, with soft leather seats and a large boot. The first generation of Mustangs combined all this with a lightweight body and powerful, torquey engines (later generations, unfortunately, no longer had this). Its success was also due to the fact that, in addition to its excellent performance, it could be completely customised, was available in a wide range of exterior and interior colours and trim levels, and thus had an almost infinite number of colour schemes and variants, and could be extensively modified and modified afterwards. This example is a very rare T-5 model with an interesting history in addition to its uniqueness. The Mustang's outstanding success made it a coveted status symbol for the European elite, and many wealthy American officers stationed in Germany coveted the popular model at home, so over time a small number of European models were produced. These models produced for the European market are some of the rarest Mustangs. Ford could not sell these models as Mustangs because the German Krupp works had already used the Mustang name for one of its trucks, so they were sold as T-5, which was the Mustang's factory code during its development. For the T-5, the Mustang's more powerful V8 engine was available with a manual gearbox for European buyers, and the T-5s were fitted with the Shelby GT350 Mustang's tuned suspension to make the car more stable and cornering-friendly for European requirements. This resulted in even better handling performance for these models. Other minor modifications were also made, such as matching exterior lights, original factory km instrumentation, a different steering wheel and a number of unique accessories in the cabin, T-5 badging on the sides, rear and petrol cap. These also make the model unique and these T-5 accessories have not been available afterwards for decades. Because of their high price and expensive custom features, only 3, 631 T-5 medallions were made for Europe between 1967 and 1973! According to a 2017 survey, only 451 of these were still in circulation, of which 297 were in the United States (the T-5 is a sought-after model in America because of its uniqueness) and only 154 were in Europe, it is not known how many of these were produced until 1969 with the most powerful engine and manual transmission, but the number of these may be very small. The present example is the latter, with the most powerful engine and manual gearbox, and is in excellent technical and aesthetic condition. The engine is impeccable, as is the gearbox, which is extremely dynamic and pulls nicely, revs well and shifts gears perfectly. The paintwork is equally beautiful, the leather seats inside are perfect, the dashboard is very aesthetically pleasing and there are no major faults. Its colour scheme of light blue-metallic with black leather interior is one of the nicest of the Mustangs. The mileage is really only 16, 000 (!) kilometres, which is believable considering its condition. The car comes from the Netherlands and it shows that the car has had an owner, not an owner. It is a beautifully preserved example, not a restored one. Worth a visit to see, unlikely you will ever see another T-5, and certainly not in this condition. It's also an excellent investment, as the Mustang is a popular model, with double-digit percentage year-over-year appreciation, and the T-5 is an extremely rare (and powerful) model optimized for European roads. Examples of similar condition, engine and mileage (if available) are priced in excess of €50, 000. If required, we can also help you with an OT inspection of the vehicle, which is particularly suitable in its current condition.
