4622 WK is a superbly restored, matching-numbers, original right hand drive example of the 1963 Jaguar E-Type series 1 roadster fitted with the 3. 8 litre engine, finished in its original colour of Carmen Red. WK has covered just 4, 100 miles since full nut and bolt restoration and has been suitably upgraded for modern driving with added performance, handling and braking benefitting this very original car.
Built at Jaguar Coventry on 25th March 1963 and factory supplied for personal export, the car was first UK road registered 4622WK on April 29th, 1963 and dispatched from the factory 1st May 1963 to Malawi.
The car returned to UK 2002 wherby full restoration began, finishing a few years later. The bodywork was completed by specialists Martin Robey, the paintwork by RS coachworks and Suffolk and Turley undertook a bespoke re-trim of the interior. The engine was full rebuilt and uprated by Sigma engineering.
More recently in 2022 a 5-speed gearbox was fitted (1, 000 miles since), uprated Koni suspension was fitted, Cooper Craft 4-piston front and rear uprated brakes were fitted plus a later 1965 pedal box. A 3. 07 limited slip differential is also fitted and the car is negative earth converted with a electric Kenlowe cooling fan. Tyres are new Pirelli Cinturatos.
The car has just received a £3, 500 service at Winspeed Engineering in June of 2025 including front suspension adjustment and set-up, Koni shock absorbers fitted all round; clutch master/ slave cylinders replaced; new starter motor.
Our opinion is not only is this the „one to have“, it’s the one to buy. Condition is very good, documentation is strong, invoices and Photos.
The car drives extremely well, the upgrades are a vast improvemt over the original specification. The 5 speed gearbox makes long distance higher speed cruising very pleasant, whilst reducing cockpit noise and heat, and the modern suspension vastly improves ride comfort.
All the above support our conclusion that this is a very worthy car.
