motodrome are very pleased to offer for sale this 1988/ F (but comes with the plate shown) Audi UR Quattro MB, finished in metallic black with full black leather interior. .
An original UK RHD example, remarkably this one has been in the care of just one private owner since 1999, and he’s always dry stored it in in the winter.
Audi introduced some significant upgrades with the MB model for the 1988 model year, including a heavily revised 2226cc engine with higher compression, smaller turbo, better engine electronics, hydraulic lifters, and more accessible torque. In my experience, when they’re in fine fettle, as this one is, they’re just a little bit quicker than the previous UR model. But they still have that addictive exhaust sound.
Audi also uprated the transmission and brakes on the MB, with a Torsen centre diff and better brakes. Internally, upgrades were limited to heated front seats, orange LCD dash display and slightly rearranged instrumentation.
Apart from the optional full black leather, this one is equipped with the correct 8x15 alloys, power steering, switchable ABS, headlamp wash, manual sunroof, electric front windows, sports seats, and period Blaupunkt stereo, Most of our photos and videos show it fitted with a horrible aftermarket Momo steering wheel, but we've now refitted the original as can be seen in the last pictures in the 'interior' section.
The digital dash is working exactly as it should. According to the last owner, the display was replaced with a fully-refurbished one in 2023.
The odometer reading of 113000 miles is supported by a big file of history and old MOT’s going back as far as 1992 and 42774m.
The engine was rebuilt and the head gas flowed at 103000m in 2001 by Reade Engineering, and we have both photos of the process and the bill. Apart from that, the last owner carried out most of the maintenance himself, and tells us that recent work he’s carried out includes

He also tells us that he’s serviced it annually for the last 20 years plus, despite not covering that many miles in his ownership

Drives exactly as it should, with great performance and the addictive exhaust note that the Audi 5-cylinder turbo motor is known for.
Overall, a nice, very original example in my opinion, with excellent provenance. Please note however, this one has never been the subject of significant body restoration, and remains really original. Consequently it’s fair to expect some blemishes commensurate with the age and mileage, and especially being black it shows every mark.
