Description
The Ruby and Pearl model were introduced towards the end of the Seven production and represented quite a refined car compared with its earlier siblings. The interior was well trimmed, the seats comfortable and it had a front opening windscreen, sliding sunroof and wind-down windows to the front and rear. Still powered by the 747cc engine, the four-speed gearbox boasted synchromesh in 2nd, 3rd and fourth gears.
This Austin 7 Pearl was first registered on the 3rd July 1935 in Exeter, more recently spent a number of years in Surrey.
The engine starts and runs well, it sounds very sweet and has good oil pressure. There is no frost damage and looks to have had a new radiator in recent times.
The drivetrain has no nasty noises, it’s very smooth and drives well. It handles like a typical al Austin 7 and has new tyres all round.
The bodywork is very solid, the underside is clean with no corrosion. The paintwork has a lot of character, it is far from immaculate but if you’re looking for something to use, enjoy and if you wished - improve, you would be more than happy!
The interior was retrimmed during its restoration and remains in good condition still to this day. The hood has been replaced more recently and is like new.
