This great looking little car had a lot of work done about 10 years ago, when a father restored it for his daughter, she used the car for about 3 years, then had a baby, so the Mini was put away in the garage until we acquired it last year.
The work done included new front panel, a panels, wings, outer sills, rear valance as well as a new rear subframe. The car was repainted in its original colours of BRG with a white roof. The leather seats from a Metro VDP were fitted, with a wood dash.
The 998cc engine was fitted with a Minispares Stage 1 tuning kit including ported cylinder head, special inlet manifold and a full tubular exhaust including manifold, it still runs very well and makes all the right noises with rather more pep than a standard car!
We have recommissioned the car, sandblasting and painting the alloy wheels, four new tyres fitted, new battery, rear drums, cylinders and shoes, new radius arm bushes, as well as a full service and new mot.
The car runs very sweetly and is, as you would expect, great fun to drive, the bodywork is still very good, one or two little imperfections, but very solid and good to go for a long while yet.
