Lot 32
A 1960 Morris Mini 850 Mk I project, registration number 6601 HX, blue. This early production Mini was first registered in June 1960 in London (Middlesex) to its first owner who retained the Mini until purchased by our vendor earlier this year. Our vendor, a professional bodyshop owner, purchased the Mini which had been in store since 1988 with the intention of restoring it, but due to an increased workload and other projects, he has taken the decision to sell the car. The Mini is quite original and solid retaining its original interior, engine and floor starter motor button. We are advised by our vendor that the body is generally original apart from some repairs to the A panels, sills and front drivers side wing. Since acquiring the Mini, our vendor has changed the front brake pads and cylinders, changed the oil and generally got the engine into a running state. He advises us that this was done to aid moving the car around his yard and further restoration/ recommissioning will be required. Early Mini projects are becoming increasingly difficult to find and this low mileage (believed 42, 000 miles from new) example offers an excellent opportunity to enthusiast or collector alike.
