SORRY, NOW RESERVED FOR IAN.
This is a 1975 Ducati, UK registered from new, and expertly converted to a racing bike, using a Triumph T100R motor.
The engine conversion is correctly recorded on the V5.
The fascinating record of the bikes construction begins in the late 1980’s, with its first run in October 1991. The history file has detailed records of the build, including balanced crank, Morgo pump, big valves, etc, etc, and it’s clear the bike has been put together with care and ability. It’s currently running a battery less ignition system, and although not fitted, the lighting system comes with the bike. So too does a large box of parts, including the original side panels.
The bike is perfect for parading, classic racing, or with a little work returning to the road as a particularly nice special. I’ve ridden the bike (it would have been rude not to!) and can confirm that it’s lively, and everything operates as it should. It has to be said that the exhaust smokes, so new rings or a rebore would be advised, but the motor sounds sweet, and oil pressure is superb. Lots of nice period touches, like that double sided front drum brake, rebuilt wheels with Akron’s fanged alloys and nearly new Avon Roadriders.
The bike will be supplied complete with all spares, history folder, lights, and even a set of starting rollers. (Preferable for cold starts, then usually starts first kick). Even at this price, we’ll consider YOUR classic in part exchange, particularly BMW airheads.
