Description
1972 Jaguar XJ6 Series 1 4. 2 Litre Manual with Overdrive
Great condition considering it is over 50 years old!
It is a genuine original car and it runs and drives really well. It was converted to manual choke which means it starts first time every time. I drove across France last year to Le Mans. It is a lovely car and I am very sad to sell it.
The colour is called Greensand which is a mustard yellow. It looks a really good period colour in the flesh.
I has 6 former keepers, most of whom have been of the same family friendship group. I have full details of all of these. I have personally owned the car for over 3 years and dry stored it in a garage.
The original owner had it for 41 years (initially via his company) before he died and it was inherited by his nephew. It was then picked up by members of the jaguar owners club who did a mild restoration on it, recommissioning it and then slightly modernising it with electronic fuel pumps, and ignition.
It is really cheap to run (£55 insurance, Tax an MOT exempt etc)The car starts first time every time even from cold. It runs very well and everything works on it. The four electric windows go up and down much faster than my modern car!
It really is a useable classic. Even the original radio has been to an engineer and a bluetooth module has been added so you can stream music from your phone!
I will add some better photos later when I have had a chance to clean it. It looks lower than normal as the original size tyres are no longer available, so the tyres on it are of a lower profile. It has not been lowered.
