Description
An original factory Gamecock (as distinct from the numerous conversions in existence) in beautiful used and meticulously cared-for condition. This is an older restoration (sometime pre 1999) but is remarkable for the high standard of the work carried out and the painstaking maintenance and upkeep the car has enjoyed since. Before my tenure the car had just one owner for the previous 22 years. During this period it was used extensively, both for local outings and for long foreign tours, and was fastidiously cared-for throughout. There are detailed notes describing all the work carried out over this period, supported by bills of course. Jobs include complete professional engine rebuild including a new crank, radiator recored, magneto rebuilt, gearbox overhauled with new bearings and seals, new back axle seals/ bearings/ half shafts, new front springs, shackles, U-bolts etc., rebuilt shock absorbers, rear springs re-tempered, new shackles, pins and clamping studs, new kingpins, steering ball joints, cups and springs all replaced, wheels rebuilt/ re-spoked and powder coated, new tyres, brakes re-lined, new cable, pulleys, seals and front lever pins re-bushed, petrol tank overhauled and sealed internally. The body and wings are original and were repainted by Keith Pointing in 2011. The dashboard and instruments are all original and work except for the petrol gauge (a working, original Hobson Telegage sender unit and dashboard instrument is included with the car). The speedometer was rebuilt by Vintage restorations in 2011, since when the car has done 8500 miles. The car has wanted for nothing in terms of upkeep and, like any car that is properly and sympathetically used, it benefits from having been regularly driven. It is a very well “sorted” example, that a driver can have full confidence in to perform well over long distances without drama.
Note that the photographs were taken in bright sunshine with the result that the green looks a little pale. In reality it is the normal factory green of the 1932 model year. There are one or two spares with the car, included in the price.
The car comes with the normal weather equipment (hood, hood bag, full tonneau) but no sidescreens.
